The 9th Saxon Automation Day in Zwickau offered exciting insights into the future of the manufacturing world. With presentations on the latest automation technologies, robotics, artificial intelligence (AI) and assistance systems, the event provided a comprehensive overview of current developments and trends in the industry.
Despite advances in automation, humans remain a key player in complex, manual manufacturing. Digital worker guidance systems are becoming increasingly indispensable for modern production.
In our presentation, we illustrated the crucial role of modern worker guidance. Together with the participants, we explored the question of why worker assistance systems are the future of production. Using specific application examples, we showed how these systems simplify work processes and at the same time secure the valuable experiential knowlegde of employees.
The use of AI in automation solutions was also discussed during the conference. The critical discussion showed that although AI offers promising opportunities, its practical implementation is still associated with challenges. Many of the necessary requirements have not yet been fully met in practice.
