hub:disrupt 2024

November 8, 2024

hub:disrupt 2024, one of the highlights of our event year, went off without a hitch on Wednesday. Over 400 participants from a total of 15 countries made hub:disrupt the perfect place for exchanging ideas and networking with experts who want to advance the digitalization and automation of production.

Product and solution providers such as DUALIS and N+P, robotics manufacturers, automation specialists, AI experts and, above all, users from the mechanical and plant engineering and semiconductor industries were also present.

The conference was able to score points with a special density of knowledge – not only in theory, but above all in practice. In addition to numerous workshops and an (upstream) Thin[gk]athon on the topic of Manufacturing-X, the parallel topic islands in particular provided insights into the most diverse areas of IIoT – from the connected store floor to AI and robotics. Together with Marcus Weigelt from Dürr Somac, we were able to report on our own practical experience and present the path to self-services for filling systems.

This variety of topics and the high-caliber line-up naturally also attracted a great deal of attention from regional and national representatives from the media and press. Numerous press interviews with representatives from, for example, EIT Manufacturing, IDTA, SAP Labs Dresden, Smart Systems Hub, VDMA, VW Manufaktur Dresden, Wandelbots and the Zukunftsallianz Maschinenbau show the great importance of both the event and the location for the innovative spirit of the participating companies.

And of course, the extremely successful “trappings” should not go unmentioned. With the VW Manufaktur Dresden, participants and speakers were able to romp around in a very special ambience – while VW continued to produce in the background. Organizer Smart Systems Hub and host Dr. Dirk Thieme really worked their magic and put together an event with great topics, an exciting exhibition and really tasty food.
